Incontro is a series of vignettes based on the classic tale of boy meets girl. The footpath of a relationship explores actions and encounters inspired from personal experiences and observations within the context of creative nonfiction. The storyboard examines signs of attraction, conflict, and commitment layered within elements of chance. The accompany essay by Noemi, allows the young woman to craft an open-ended story under the theme of Incontro, to meet.
In time, the photographer will direct a series of couples creating little happenings within the backdrop of the Renaissance City or discover natural occurrences in daily life. The lens builds a narrative to begin the conversation with a gesture, a touch, or an activity–giving way to a romantic spirit to enable one to take notes, in which arrested moments express themselves and conjures a world of associations. Where a visual memory links the dynamics of a meeting by stepping back to capture the natural relationship between the subjects.
Is there a catalyst which triggers the outcome of “un incontro” an elemental chart representing growth or disappointment, displaying comfort or loss, or defining hope and frustration? Where does one find the bridge to meet, a place to cue the senses, that natural connectivity that protects time, exposes an intimacy and breaks down barriers to produce a match.
Incontro: a meeting, match, encounter, bout, towards or against.
